What an access control system does
An access control system replaces keys with credentials such as cards, fobs or phones. A reader at each controlled door checks the credential against the schedules and permissions you set, releases the lock and records the event. When an employee leaves or a badge is lost, access is removed in seconds instead of rekeying the building, and every door event is logged for review.
Access control installation, door by door
Our access control installation starts with a survey of every opening: the door and frame, existing hardware, fire and egress requirements and how the door is used through the day. We then coordinate the right electric strike, maglock or electrified lock with request-to-exit devices and door position sensors, install readers and controllers, and run and test the low voltage cabling to standard. Locksmith and electrical work is coordinated with your trades so the door works and meets code.
Cloud-managed or on-premises
Cloud-managed access control lets you add users, change schedules and unlock doors from a browser or phone, and it scales cleanly across multiple sites. On-premises systems suit facilities that need local control or operate in restricted environments. We recommend the approach that fits your sites, then configure credentials, schedules, holidays and administrator roles before handoff.
Door access control with cameras and the network
Access control works best alongside video. We integrate door events with your security cameras so an alarm or forced door can be reviewed with the matching footage, and we place controllers on a segmented network designed by our network security team, so your door system is protected like any other critical system.
Where we install access control
Typical projects include office suites and multi-tenant buildings, server and network rooms, warehouses and loading areas, clinics and medication rooms, schools and campus buildings, and resident amenities in multifamily and senior living communities. We support commercial real estate, healthcare, education, manufacturing and government contractors across the United States.
